Children who take part in our summer reading program will receive a special songbook that they can fill by reading (or being read to) and doing activities specially designed for their age group: early learners or school-age kids. Earn badges, a book, and other prizes, while creating fun memories this summer!
To complete the kids' summer reading program, earn 500 points. You can earn points by spending time reading, reviewing books, or doing activities like visiting the library, attending a concert, or playing games. Keep track of your points through the Beanstack website or app.
Once you reach 500 points, you will have earned a free book, a pass for a visit to Northwest Trek or Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, and coupons for free stuff from Auntie Anne's, Round Table Pizza, and other local businesses.
All prizes, including stickers, books, and vouchers, will be available for pick-up until September 1.
At the end of the summer reading program, we will do our grand prize drawings for $50 gift cards to amazon.com and the South Hill Mall. The more points you earn, the more entries you'll earn! So keep reading and participating all summer long for more chances to win. Everyone participating in the summer reading program will also be working towards a community goal of 1,000,000 points - if we hit this goal, the library will host an ice cream party in August!
