It's summer reading at the library, and we have a variety of awesome
activities just for teens. From robot builds to anime marathons to self
defense, crafts to cards to cupcakes, we've got you covered. And, of
course, there are lots of things to read! Teens can win prizes,
including books and gift cards, by doing activities, reading and
reviewing books, and attending programs. All activities are free and
open to teens, ages 12 - 19.
The Library's teen advisory board helps shape library services for teens through planning programs, suggesting titles to add to the collection, creating displays, and volunteering.
No registration is required.

Are you interested in volunteering at the Library? There are multiple ways you can volunteer with us.
The League of Teen Advisors meets on a monthly basis and can count towards volunteer hours. Anyone can join, no registration required. Meetings typically last two hours, and cover a variety of topics, which can include planning programs for teens, creating art projects of the Teen Zone, or choosing books for the library's Young Adult section, among other activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to have a say in what sort of services the Library offers teens. Based on discussions at our meetings, we sometimes have additional volunteer opportunities, including creating displays or assisting with programs for teens, children, or adults.
Meeting Dates & Times
Meeting dates and times are posted on our Teen Group page and Facebook page.
Teens can also volunteer to help on a weekly basis at the Library, as space allows. These volunteers will learn some basic procedures and tasks associated with the Library's day-to-day operations. We accept volunteers from ages 14 and up.
For teens ages 14 - 17, please download and complete the Teen Volunteer Application (PDF) and return it to the Library. If you wish to apply and you are 18 years or older, please fill out an Adult Volunteer Application. Adults will be asked to complete a Washington State Patrol background check, which will require a signature and a copy of your current identification. Both forms are also available at the Library Card Services Desk.
